Our planet, the creatures on it, and my health

These are the 3 simple motivators that led me to change my eating habits. While I try not to push this lifestyle onto others, I think the messages that drove me to change my diet are important.

Context and full-disclosure -- throughout the last ~4 years I've been gradually transitioning from an almost-vegetarian to a full-on-plant-based vegan.

That being said, I still have my setbacks and sometimes being 100% vegan 100% of the time just isn't feasible. That being said, even slightly changing your habits to align with this concept will not only improve your personal health, it will massively lower your carbon footprint and your contribution to the exploitation of our animal friends.

If you're the least bit interested in why millions of people around the globe are increasingly reducing their animal-product intake, awesome! Start by watching the documentaries listed below.

I get it, ignorance is bliss. However, before you decide to turn a blind eye, remember an even better cliche - knowledge is power!

Summed up by Wikipedia best, Earthlings is a documentary "about humanity's use of other animals as pets, food, clothing, entertainment, and for scientific research."

This film walks you through the huge environmental disaster created by animal agriculture, and why eco-groups like Greenpeace and Sierra Club aren't talking about it.

If you care at all about your health, this doc is a must-see. It outlines how changing your diet can prevent, and even reverse, life-threatening diseases such as cancer and diabetes.

This widely-seen documentary takes a deeper look into our corrupt and monopolized food industry.

A combination of disturbing and heart-breaking, this 13-minute video sheds some serious light on the realities factory-farmed animals face everyday.
